Fabiola Residence & Apartments
Pool Pavilion / Clubhouse
Location: Kiriri, Burundi
Scope: Architecture, Architectural Visualisations
Year: 2025
Set within the quiet, elevated neighbourhood of Kiriri in Bujumbura, this residence was envisioned as more than a private home — it is a small, considered community.
The brief called for a main residence complemented by a collection of apartments, unified by a shared recreational heart. At its centre lies the pool pavilion: a contemporary retreat designed to bring residents together in a setting that feels both refined and relaxed.
The pavilion unfolds as a sequence of experiences. A sheltered seating terrace flows into a barbecue and dining area, encouraging long afternoons that turn effortlessly into evening gatherings. The boma anchors the space — a sculptural fire feature set within generous timber seating — creating warmth, atmosphere and a natural point of connection. Beyond, a fully equipped gym opens toward the garden, allowing exercise to feel open, light-filled and integrated with nature.
Materiality plays a quiet but powerful role. Natural stone, warm timber slats and soft, neutral finishes create a palette that feels grounded and timeless. The architecture embraces openness, blurring indoor and outdoor living while maintaining a sense of privacy and calm. Lush landscaping frames each space, softening the structure and reinforcing the pavilion’s role as a sanctuary within the development.
This project reflects our continued work in Kiriri: designing environments that balance elegance with everyday functionality — places where community, wellness and considered design come together seamlessly.
